In the afternoon of Friday, January 4, 2013, a burglar with a crowbar approached a house in Loganville, Georgia. The woman inside saw the man and took her 9-year-old twin daughters into the attic.
The burglar eventually found them and the woman fired six times from a .38 revolver. The criminal begged her not to shoot him again and she ran with her daughters to a next door neighbor.
The burglar fled in an SUV but crashed a short distance away. Police came and took him to a hospital where he was put on a ventilator with damaged lungs, stomach and liver.
Her husband was on the phone with her when the burglar found her and her daughters.
He told a reporter “My wife is a hero. She protected her kids. She did what she was supposed to do as responsible, prepared gun owner. Her life is saved, and her kids’ life is saved, and that’s all I’d like to say.”
Five of her six shots hit the burglar – now that’s gun control!
