On May 1st at around 4:10 in the morning two masked men broke into a gas station located in Shingleton, Michigan.  As they attempted to go for the cash register, they were met by Shawn Schank, the owner of the station.  Shawn, who happens to be an Iraq War veteran, kicked one of the men and managed to retrieve his AR-15.

Just the presence of the AR-15 stopped both of the criminals in their tracks with one of them even removing his mask and begging Shawn to spare his life.  Shawn ordered the pair to leave and they ran away from the station.  Police later arrested the criminals and threw them in jail.  Charges are expected to be filed.

Once again, just the appearance of a firearm in the hands of a good guy stops criminals without a shot being fired.
