On July 1st, Lynne Russell, a former CNN anchor and her husband Chuck de Caro, a former CNN correspondent were in a motel room in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lynne stepped out of the room and was forced back into the room by an armed man. Once in the room, the robber threw her onto the bed, demanded their valuables and went to get Chuck’e briefcase.
As the perp started to leave he turned around and started firing his gun. Chuck has a CCW license and had drawn his firearm. Both Chuck and the robber shot at each other. Chuck was rushed to the hospital with three bullet wounds while the perp lay outside waiting for the coroner. Continue reading
A masked gunman walked into Miller Auto Sales in an attempt to rob them. A quick-thinking employee pulled out his own firearm and stopped the robbery before anyone could be hurt or killed. Two rounds stopped the criminal.
One of the customers present was quoted as saying “I’d have shot him too.”
After an investigation, police stated that Miller’s actions were justifiable, with Sgt. Scott Bales of the Chattanooga Police stating, “If you, yourself or another’s life is in danger, you have the right to protect yourself.” (Chattanooga Times Free Press, Chattanooga, Tenn. 03/28/15)
Once again, a good guy with a gun stopped a robbery and possibly saved lives. Remember: just about every criminal who carries a firearm will not hesitate to use it to commit a crime.
In early September a group of six teenage gang members have been arrested in the attempted robbery of group of adults. The robbery attempt by this group is their last for quite a while.
One of the adults happened to have a concealed firearm and used it to thwart the attack, killing one of the youth. This group of teenage thugs has been suspected of a rash of robberies. Continue reading

One of the robbers pointed a gun at Representative Ryan Bizzarro of Erie and Representative Marty Flynn pulled out his S&W Bodyguard 380 pistol, which was concealed in the small of his back. Four armed robbers, who were possible suspects in an earlier armed robbery of a gas station, decided to increase their wealth by entering EJ’s Place in Houston, TX. They were stopped by a patron who often stays late to safely accompany female bartenders to their cars. Continue reading
On Monday, September 22nd, three masked and armed robbers entered a gas station in Canton, Ohio, intent on robbing the place. They should have chosen another place. During the robbery attempt there was a shootout which was their second mistake.
The clerk stopped the robbery and was shot in the legs. Two of the robbers were found dead outside the store while the third one was still missing. The two dead robbers had previous convictions and one of them was a felon in illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Once again, a good guy with a gun stops the bad guys.
On Saturday, March 22nd, Jamail Koroma thought he found some easy prey he could rob in the bowels of DART, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit underground. He was correct about his target, a woman all alone. He threatened the woman with a gun and ordered her to give him her bag. They briefly struggled and the robber got his hands on her cash. Someone picked the wrong store to rob. The would-be robber was shot by a clerk on February 9th as he attempted the holdup. The clerk shot the perp several times.
It appears someone drove the criminal to the hospital, where he was arrested. The owner of the Stop and Gone market told ABC 13 Eyewitness News “It is dangerous. Even in your home it is dangerous, you can’t even go to your home nowadays.”
He entered the store brandishing a handgun and threatened the store manager and his employees. The manager ran to a back room despite the orders from Demarcus to stop or be shot. The manager was able to retrieve his firearm and came back to the showroom. Continue reading
