Invitation Received:

You are cordially invited to attend one of our upcoming meetings concerning Firearms Regulations.

Thursday, May 10, 6-9 p.m. Carlmont High School Multi-purpose Room. 1400 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont.

Thursday, May 17, 6-9 p.m. Hiller Aviation Museum. 601 Skyway Road, San Carlos.

This is an opportunity to hear from community members about possible zoning and health and safety code changes here in San Carlos. The event will commence with a discussion of legal issues, followed by a short discussion about possible regulations and the upcoming process to be taken by the City of San Carlos Hearing from our community members will be the focus of the remainder of the evening.

This is a very timely discussion, which began in San Carlos late last year when some members of the community objected to a gun retailer opening a store here in the city. The gun retailer has since cancelled its lease and withdrawn its permit to open a store here in San Carlos. A temporary moratorium on the establishment of gun retailers in San Carlos was put in place by the City Council and is set to expire later this year. In advance of further Council consideration of this issue, we are engaging with the community.

If you have any questions about this issue, please contact Peter Pierce, Attorney at Law, at ppierce@rwglaw.com or (415) 421-8484 or City Attorney Greg Rubens at grubens@cityofsancarlos.org or 650-593-3117 Extension 202. You may also follow this item on the City’s website at www.cityofsancarlos.org/firearmsregulations.

Hope to see you there.
