My friend Ron shared this with me and I have to share it with my fellow GS2AC members. Remember when kids playing with toy guns had real fun?

Every Saturday morning Grandpa Walt found himself babysitting his three grandchildren…all boys. The kids always wanted to play ”war,” and Grandpa somehow always got coaxed into the game.
His daughter came to pick up the kids early one Saturday and witnessed Grandpa take a fake shot as Jason pointed a toy gun and yelled, “Bang!”
Grandpa slumped to the floor and stayed there motionless. The daughter rushed over to see if he was all right. Grandpa opened one eye and whispered, ”Sh-h-h, I always do this. It’s the only chance I get to rest.”

And back then there were no shootings like those that we see today. In fact, today we even have children getting arrested when they menacingly point a piece of pizza at another student. Right around the corner from me they locked down a school for the presence of a NERF gun!

Maybe we should just let children be children and play. You might even be able to catch some shuteye while you are at it!

By hook or by crook ; Liberals have always been out to destroy the Constitution. It’s that pesky document that keeps getting in the way of depriving people of private property rights, freedom of thought, freedom of religion…. and oh, of course that most intolerable of things, the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms.

Recently, the man most involved with the recent Obama Administration scandal that trafficked guns to violent Mexican drug gangs, was faced with a gotcha’ moment. Video surfaced of Eric Holder advocating that the American people should be “brainwashed” about firearms. ( 1 ) His words, not mine.

The video from 1995, showed the young and aspiring Mr Holder insisting that we needed a campaign to “change the way people think about guns .” Mr Holder’s excuse was the oft heard lament from gun-controllers that too many young people were getting murdered with guns. According to Mr Holder, ”What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes.”

In the same video, he mentions using mass media and Hollywood to cast a bad light on firearms. He further suggests that political leaders support the campaign. Worse still, that public schools be enlisted in to make the anti-gun message a part of “every day, every school, and every level.”

Now let’s consider Mr Holder’s analogy: the campaign against cigarettes. Over the last 50 years that campaign has slowly turned what used to be a very common activity into one relegated only to distant corners of the public arena. Some employers have made non-smoking a requirement for a job. Smoking has been banned from both inside and outside all manner of buildings ….including schools, and even in open space forums like beaches. In fact, the castigation of smokers has become so aggressive that there have been attempts to legislate ban smoking inside one’s own home.

Pretty effective huh?

And pretty similar to what Nationalist Socialists like Mr Holder have been trying to do to the Second Amendment .

Think about it.

Mention that you are a gun owner and for many people it is an opportunity to question your sanity. If your children mention that you own a gun, it can get you arrested until someone in Child Protective Services can search your home. ( 2 ) You can be arrested if you have a gun within 1,000 feet of a school, regardless of it is properly secured or not . I personally witnessed a local police agencies using a huge billboard to encourage people to call the police and report any neighbors who might have a gun. ( 3 ) Some police officers have taken it upon themselves to suggest that anyone ADVOCATING open carry rights should be shot ( 4 ) If your gun MALFUNCTIONS you can be thrown in jail ( 5 ) If you LEGALLY defend your own life with a gun in your apartment, you might get evicted ( 6 ) Or if you threaten to shoot MS13 gang members preparing to attack you you might get arrested ( 7 ) You can even be thrown in jail for TRYING to comply with the laws regarding firearm transportation ( 8 ) etc etc etc.

These are the same tactics they used to marginalize smokers and destroy their right to kill themselves with cigarettes.

And regardless of what Mr Holder says his intentions really are……… his actions, and the actions of all anti-gunners, ultimately focus on the destruction of the Second Amendment. That is always the end goal.

We can at least credit Mr Holder with being somewhat honest. He wants to brain wash the American people and he wants to cover up his intentions with white lies. But one part he will never admit to; he is no friend of liberty.

That’s ok….. I will never be a friend of Liberals like him. And if he ever finds someone infringing on his rights, I will not be racing to his defense. You reap what you sow. And I for one will love to watch him being carted off to jail some day.

The English have a saying: “Too smart by a half”. It is a fancy way of saying that someone is a highly educated idiot.

And when it comes to the Obama Administration, criminal activity and gun control it certainly must apply. Because anyone with a lick of common sense would never have considered the following as rational:

Let’s make it easy for the Mexican drug cartels to get weapons and ammunition while making it harder for US Commercial Pilots to have the guns they need to stop airline hijackings.

I kid you not. This is the current state of thinking within the Obama administration.

We are all well aware of the on-going scandal involving the BATFE and it’s program to encourage gun sales to Mexican criminals , ostensibly so they can then track the weapons and identify the bad guys. And it has now been revealed that the program worked so well they actually had one of the punks in custody, but felt the need to let him go. ( 1)

Well it appears that this level of incompetence was not good enough for our Peter Principle President and his advisers. The White House has decided that the budget to train and arm US Commercial pilots needs to be cut in half. ( 2 )

You may remember a small incident back in September of 2011, where a few Muslim hijackers slit the throats of several airline crew-members during the course of taking over several airliners. These airliners were then flown into several fairly large structures in New York resulting in their collapse and the deaths of thousands. If you didn’t hear about it, we understand. It’s not like it made the 6 o’clock news or anything.

That budget was designed to give pilots the ability to defend both themselves and the passengers of their aircraft. In the air, the air crew is the last line of defense against these terrorists. Without the means of defending themselves and maintaining control over their aircraft everyone is in jeopardy. 9/11 proved that.

In sum, our Harvard educated, Cretin-In-Chief has determined that the best way to stop criminal activity is to help violent gangs have more weapons while making it easier for the terrorists to take over airliners.

Now I know that there are many people who question whether or not President Obrain-dead is actually a US Citizen. And there is plenty of proof to call in question where the rock was that he crawled out from under at birth.

But I think there is far more evidence to question the claim that the individual who now occupies the White House has even one brain cell betwixt his ears.

I shudder to think of the only other explanation: We have a President whose guiding philosophy is the destruction of this nation and our Constitution.

Who knows, it may be both.

When a foundation is flawed, the home built upon it is unsound and unsafe to those who occupy it.

The same can be said about those political movements whose belief system is flawed and the impact that the belief system has upon the members of a society.

Gun Control is a clear example of this principle in action. Just ask the father who was recently arrested because his daughter drew a picture of a gun while at school. I kid you not. Arrested for a drawing. ( 1 )

Gun Control advocates begin with the belief that firearm violence can only be reduced by restricting the presence of guns in society. Initially, these restrictions are always framed as “common sense ” laws. But invariably, each proposed restriction is claimed to be insufficient, and this leads to another layer of restrictions, which spiral into further layers of restrictions. And while gun control advocates will never openly admit to it, their ultimate goal is for these ” common sense ” restrictions to completely sanitize society from the scourge of personally owned firearms.

Turning the Second Amendment right to bear arms into a dead letter of the Constitution is not however something to be achieved overnight. It is a slow process of deterioration driven by opportunists utilizing tactics of sensationalism, fear mongering and slander. Beginning in 1932, when America’s first great Nationalist Socialist Franklin Delano Roosevelt initiated the first national gun control laws, until this very day, each effort to impose gun restrictions has been founded on some scandal or sensationalized crime. And in each case, propaganda campaigns painting pictures of wild gun battles and bloodied innocents are merged with a drive for popular support for some ” common sense ” measure.

One of the most insidious of these propaganda campaigns is the notion of “zero tolerance ” for firearms in public schools. What might once have meant the banning of actual firearms from schools has devolved into the paranoia that even a picture of a firearm is intolerable.

And it is exactly this very climate of irrationality that recently landed a father in jail.

According to Alison Scott, executive director of Family and Children’s Services, this was all a very rational and very reasonable thing to do. “From a public safety point of view, any child drawing a picture of guns and saying there’s guns in a home would warrant some further conversation with the parents and child.” Worse still were the comments the child made to her teacher about the gun in the drawing. “That’s my daddy’s. He uses it to shoot bad guys and monsters.”

On the basis of these factors, the father was beckoned to the school property, where the police pounced on him, took him to jail, strip searched him and held him with no mention of the charges against him for over 4 hours. Worse still, even AFTER admitting that the police should not have arrested him, the police insisted on the man allowing the police to search his home for firearms.

Gun Control is irrational. It is a form of paranoia. And like all irrational belief systems when it becomes intrenched in the culture of government it always spirals into extremes that lead to abuse of the citizenry.

So the next time you meet someone advocating gun control, keep your distance. You never know just how unstable they might be. Better yet……… get one of those white jackets with the really long sleeves and keep it handy.

The anti-gun movement is trying a boycott of Starbucks because they allow open and concealed carry of firearms in all stores as long as people abide by the state laws at the Starbucks.

We are staging a “Thank You for Supporting our Constitutional Rights” get together at the following Starbucks, this Tuesday, February 14th at 8:00 in the morning.

Address: 1338 The Alameda, Suite 1, San Jose, CA, 95126

Please wear something that identifies you as pro-gun, preferably a GS2AC T-Shirt!

Please do not wear cammo, as we do not want to appear to be out-of-control crazies.

Also, please do not open carry, as this could detract from our Thank You. Go inside, order a drink and thank the barista/cashier for Starbucks protecting our Constitutional rights, particularly the Second Amendment.

Of note worthiness, there is a Peet’s Coffee (they refuse to allow legal firearms carry at all their stores.) right across the street. Please do not harass their customers. Our presence at Starbucks drinking coffee or hot chocolate in a peaceful display of support will be enough.

Please SAVE your receipts as we will be gathering these and sending them to Starbucks corporate. You can bring them in to the next GS2AC meeting or we will post an address later on our web site.

If you have a video camera or a smartphone that can take video, please bring it. We can post the video or our thank you gathering and post it on the GS2AC YouTube channel.

Let’s show the world who we support and why!

It looks like a case of tit-for-tat mixed with some child discipline and recreational shooting. It all started with the daughter posting a pretty bad post about her parents on her Facebook.

She then asked her father to repair her laptop and install some new software. Her father works in the IT area and discovered the post.

In addition to grounding her for her second disrespectful post, he also does some recreational shooting by putting 10 rounds into the laptop. One of the rounds was from the mother who told him to put one there for her.

He should have been wearing glasses and I doubt the bullets were exploding as he said.

This is no joke. I could not have made this up if I tried to.

Recently, the County of Los Angeles passed a law BANNING the following at public beaches ……. throwing Frisbees, throwing footballs and digging holes in the sand more than 18 inches deep. ( 1 )

I say again…. I did not make this up. If your kids dig a hole in the sand while playing at the beach, and the eco-nazi beach guard thinks it is more than 18 inches deep, you can be hit with a $1,000 dollar fine. The same applies for the Frisbee or football infraction. ( Nerf types included ).

This means that the Nationalist Socialists who run the County of LA operate with a mindset based on the following:

a. Frisbees and footballs are some kind of lethal projectiles.

b. Digging in the sand and making sand castles are detrimental to public safety.

c. The same people who can be trusted with driving a 2 thousand pound hunk of metal at 65 miles per hour can not be trusted with managing the intricacies of a 12 oz piece of plastic traveling at 10 miles per hour.

d. The idiots who can’t balance a County budget think they have more wisdom than the average beach goer chucking a football.

If ever there was a classic example of the arrogant superiority complex and outright stupidity that underpins the Liberal mind, this is it.

If ever there was a proof text for why governments at all levels must be downsized and shackled by the citizenry, this is it.

And if ever there was a justification for insisting that American citizens have a sacred right to keep and bear arms as an ultimate check on this kind of abusive political activity, this is it.

Can the clowns who think you can not be trusted with a Frisbee , be trusted with protecting your Constitutional rights? If these morons assume the authority to micro-manage digging in the sand, how much of a leap is it for them to assume the authority to micro-manage your firearms rights until they no longer exist ?

These are the same dopes who talk about ” common sense ” gun laws. Excuse me ? Common sense from common cretins? If anything, this proves everything the gun control community says is rhetoric dishonest to its’ core.

Frankly speaking, my heart goes out to those people afflicted with mental retardation. But my compassion ends when mental retardation becomes a requirement for public office.

The Golden State Second Amendment Council honors a long-time member Ronald Joseph Ruscigno. Ron was a strong supporter of our Second Amendment rights.

Ronald passed away Friday, January 27, 2012. Our condolences go out to his family. We will deeply miss him.

Rest In Peace, Ron.

Ron Ruscigno passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the age of 69. He was born and raised in San Jose, California. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alma Ruscigno. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children Russell (Danice), Angela (Keith) and Marlo (Evan); his wife’s children Monica (Norm; Quin & Remy) and Fred; his sister Lorene (Lew Milligan); and his nephews Shawn (Nancy; Reagan, Riley, Ryan & Rhys) and Matthew (Stacey; Nicholas & Carson).

Ron worked as a heavy equipment operator and then as a Real Estate & Relocation Specialist with the City of San Jose. In 1974, Ron realized a long held dream of farming when he, along with his father, purchased an apricot orchard in Tracy, California. Whether it was packing apricots for the fresh market or drying them for holiday sales, Ron loved his apricot business, Orchard Gold.

But despite his busy schedule, Ron always had time for family and friends. He loved attending his children’s sporting events, visiting elderly relatives, delivering apricots to friends or just stopping by to say “Hi.” And Ron loved big family events; his Independence Day party was an annual favorite.

Ron was a proud gun owner and became a Life Member of the National Rifle Association in 1969. Like his father and son, he was an avid hunter. Whether hunting blacktail deer in California or mule deer in Idaho and Wyoming, Ron truly enjoyed spending time in the field with family and friends.

Anyone who knew Ron knew he was a true American patriot. A staunch defender of our constitutional republic, Ron was Tea Party before there was a Tea Party. Along with family and friends, he attended local Conservative Forum events.

Ron was a member of the Tricarico Social Club and was always there to help prepare the dinners and tease his friends. He was in the first graduating class of Del Mar High School in 1960, and continued to be involved in the tri-school reunions (Camden, Campbell, Del Mar). Ron was a devout and learned Catholic; he was an active parishioner at Assumption of Mary Catholic Church and was a founding member of St. Joseph Men’s Society.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 6th, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Lima Family Mortuary, 710 Willow Street, San Jose. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 901 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2650 Madden Avenue, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assumption of Mary Catholic Church 901 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126 or Little Italy – San Jose, P.O. Box 592, San Jose, CA 95106.

A janitor at Cupertino High School caused a code red shutdown of the school by reporting a student with an “UZI-like gun.” The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department stormed the school only to find the brightly-colored NERF guns sold at Toys-R-Us and other toy stores.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department responded as they should have to a report of an UZI at a high school. And their well-trained officers instantly saw the toys and probably had a good laugh of relief.

What followed next shows you how the zero-tolerance policies of schools combined with the lack of training make me wonder how people react to things they really don’t understand.

First, the janitor should receive some training in how to spot a toy gun. Trips to Toys-R-Us and a few other toy stores are well needed. Then follow that with a trip to Kerley’s Hunting and Outfitting for a hand-on show and tell on just about any firearm he is likely to see in school or on the streets.

After that a NERF gun fight is called for. This will prevent future false reports.

In fact, do this for all Cupertino school system employees from the principals on down to the janitors.

I would bet that the GS2AC would volunteer to do the training. They would probably take everyone to the firearms range afterwards and everyone would walk away informed and with smiling faces.

The school confiscated the guns saying replicas of firearms are not allowed at the school. PARDON ME! I would like them to show me the firearm on which the NERF gun is based.

Cupertino High School needs gun training and the GS2AC would like to offer serious firearms training to all Cupertino High School Employees.
