In his (or her) post Dear Gun Control Democrats: 6 Ways to Make a Better Argument, he (or she) makes some great points to discredit just about every argument the left uses to support their gun control efforts.  There are a lot of well-researched facts that any 2A supporter can use to combat those who would like to see the Second Amendment go by the wayside.

Here are a few suggestions offered by this blog post:

“The best way to convince the American public that you’re not interested in taking guns away is to stop talking about taking guns away.”

“If you don’t know how guns work, you don’t get to craft legislation about them.”

“Stop Using Children”

“Stop Pretending Background Checks Don’t Already Exist”

“…you cannot advance the discussion on gun policy by treating the NRA as if they were something other than the citizens who intentionally pay for them to do exactly what they do.”

“Gun policy is not really as partisan a debate as mainstream media would suggest. There are plenty of left-leaning citizens and Democratic voters who love our guns.”

I highly recommend reading this post in it entirety!  This is a far-left liberal that I wouldn’t mind standing beside to protect our rights to bear arms.

I am proud to say that the Golden State Second Amendment Council is a non-partisan gathering group of citizens who are like-minded when it comes to the Second Amendment.  I extend an invitation to the author of Kontradictions to attend one of our meetings or even our annual BBQ!

Again, I urge everyone, but particularly the left-of-center citizens to read this well thought out and accurate article.

Adam enthusiastically used a DPMS .308 “assault” rifle outfitted with a 20-round magazine to pulverize watermelons.  He had as much fun as he could legally have with his clothes on as the THUMP of the bullets hitting the watermelons and the pink spray of watermelon juice permeated the air.

It looks like just another great day in the free State of Colorado by a bunch of firearms enthusiasts, hosted no less by a Senator.

Adam Eichberg, however, is a lobbyist who is working for Mayors Against Illegal Guns, an anti-gun group founded by Mayor Bloomberg from the Nanny City of New York.

Evidently Adam believes in his Right to the Pursuit of Happiness in using those evil, and soon to be illegal, “assault” rifles with high-capacity magazines.  When the anti-gun Governor of Colorado heard about the Watermelon Shoot in his own state, Governor John Hickenlooper, a Democrat who is promising to sign legislation to outlaw such rifles, asked to be invited!

It is amazing how so many anti-gun activists want to Keep and Bear Arms while wanting to prevent from falling into the hands of normal citizens.

When asked about his participation in the fun Watermelon Shoot, lobbyist Adam Eichberg said “I really hate watermelons.”  Maybe Mr. Eichberg needs an anger management course instead.

Kevin said “I don’t believe in guns. I don’t own a gun… These people protected me when I couldn’t protect myself.”  He also said he wants to thank those two people for saving him.

Hopefully we might even see Kevin supporting concealed carry.  This happened in Houston, Texas, where a law-abiding person is allowed to carry a firearm on their person.  Permits are readily available as long as you are a law-abiding citizen and not crazy or a felon.

With the free availability of information sharing that is possible today; the people in Russia have seen how precious freedom in the United States really is.  They have suffered heavily under the hands of tyrants that have taken their means of self defense from them.

The fact that everyone would start shooting is also laughable when statistics are examined.

For those of us fighting for our traditional rights, the US 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever darkening room. Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but are in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases. As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill NC), swords (Japan), knives (China) or home made bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack. What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or “talking to them”, it is a bullet in the head, that is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.

Isn’t it amazing that Pravda is echoing the sentiments of what our founders said? Benjamin Franklin and sometimes Thomas Jefferson are often credited with saying “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

I implore you to take a look around and see what the socialists in the United States are doing.  It is time for all Americans who wish to be free to stand their ground and let the government know we can protect ourselves domestically.

Senator Boxer introduced the School Safety Enhancement Act which provides for armed guards to be used in the schools (National Guard troops in her version).  Imagine having a gun-banner like Senator Boxer agreeing with Dr. John R. Lott, Jr. that more guns in the schools will result in less crime.

Even more surprising is the fact, Senator Boxer is agreeing with Wayne LaPierre of the NRA.  Wayne, in a televised news conference said “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”  He recommended using police, retired police and military placed in every school to keep the peace.

Will wonders never cease?

The murder rate is 50% above that of last year and the reduction in police encourage more crime.  On top of this the city attorney noticed too many criminals are in the city.

Jim Penman, San Bernardino’s city attorney said “Let’s be honest, we don’t have enough police officers. We have too many criminals living in this city.”

Jim encouraged people to defend themselves since the police apparently are not going to do it.  He told people at a city meeting called for the recent murder of an elderly woman to “lock your doors and load your guns.”  Wendy McCommack, a City Councilwoman agrees with Jim.

I have a hard time believing this is happening in California!

One Goh, 43, legally purchased a .45 pistol.  The magazines could hold 8 rounds, well under California’s 10-round limit.

Goh passed the instant FBI background check.  He waded through California’s strict gun laws and also waited the 10 day cooling-off period.

Then he went over to Oikos University in East Oakland, California and killed seven people and wounded three others.  This tragic murderous spree shows that anyone who really wishes to kill people can do it.

Amanda and Nick Wilcox, lobbyists for the California chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence commented on the shootings. “It wasn’t a failure of laws. I just don’t see how our gun laws could have stopped something like that.”

That is what we have been saying all along when yet another gun law restricts law abiding citizens.

If One Goh was not dissuaded from killing people with a possibility of a death sentence for murder, surely he would not have been put off by gun laws.

Publishing a pro-Second Amendment article seems really out of place and I started to read the article with a lot of skepticism figuring there was a huge amount of sarcasm embedded within.

Surprisingly, I had to look out the window for flying pigs after I finished this article.  It agrees with John Lott Jr.’s premise of More Guns Less Crime.

In his article “A safer society with guns” Jeff Jacoby writes: “But the experience of Colorado State and DC should come as no surprise. By now there’s so much evidence that higher rates of gun ownership lead to lower rates of crime that it isn’t hard to fathom why fewer and fewer Americans want to ban handguns.”

Jeff points out that the University of Colorado has fought the state’s concealed-carry law and their crime has increased by 35% starting at 2004.

On the other hand, Colorado State University embraced and supported Colorado’s concealed-carry law.  They allowed students with a state-issued concealed-carry permit to carry firearms to class and on campus. Not surprisingly, the crime dropped 60% since 2004.

Jeff, I congratulate you for having the intestinal fortitude to point out the obvious that more guns means less crime.  If you happen to be out here in California’s Bay Area during the last Thursday of the month, stop by for a GS2AC meeting and we will buy you dinner. Sixty members of congress called for his resignation and US Attorney General Holder has refused.  He claims that the only reason he is being asked to resign is the fact he happens to be black.

A US Attorney General who causes the death of a federal employee ought to resign.  If US Attorney General Eric Holder believes his blackness is the reason he must also believe pigs can fly.

Here is what Eric said: “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him.  Both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”  No mention of pigs here in his statement.
