Governor Brown Signs and Vetoes Gun Laws

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Governor Brown signed into law several bills, such as AB 711 making it illegal to hunt with lead ammunition.  An amendment allows for the use of lead ammunition in case the non-lead ammunition is deemed armor-piercing.

AB 48 bans repair parts for magazines greater than 10 rounds.

Governor Brown vetoed SB 374 which would have turned any semiautomatic with a detachable magazine and capable of accepting a magazine of more that 10 rounds into an assault weapon and require a yearly tax. It would have also banned the sale or transfer of all such rifles.
