Condoleezza Rice is a defender of the Second Amendment and she is against gun registration. If it weren’t for firearms owned by her father and their neighbors, the KKK might have killed them. The White Knight Riders with their hoods and other factions of the KKK had terrorized the black communities for years, shooting and hanging countless blacks.
The Democrat party in the south pushed gun control for one purpose: to disarm blacks so they couldn’t protect themselves. Interestingly, the gun control laws just affected the people who they didn’t agree with; just like today!
Condi Rice appeared on The View and said this:
Let me tell you why I’m a defender of the Second Amendment. I was a little girl growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, in the late fifties, early sixties. There was no way that Bull Connor and the Birmingham Police were going to protect you, and so when White Knight Riders would come through our neighborhood, my father and his friends would take their guns and they’d go to the head of the neighborhood, it’s a little cull-de-sac and they would fire in the air, if anybody came through. I don’t think they actually ever hit anybody, but they protected the neighborhood. And I’m sure if Bull Connor had known where those guns were he would have rounded them up. And so, I don’t favor some things like gun registration.
That said, it’s time to have a national conversation about how we deal with the problems that we have. It’s not going to any single fix to the terrible events of Parkland.
Condi, however, went on to say that people shouldn’t have “assault weapons.” She has said this in the past. Maybe she needs some schooling on what a true assault rifle is. And, the AR-15 can’t be compared with a tank.
Watch the video below from ABC’s The View and see who another defender of our gun rights is. Hint: she says the AR-15 platform is the most widely used hunting rifle. Yep, it has been for years.
